Our group of three (with 12yo) had the best day with Lello. Even before the tour started so impressed with the communication from Maria with our specific tour request to visit Pompeii, Herculanum & Vesuvius in a day. Lello is so knowledgeable, entertaining, and enthusiastic about the history and archeological findings in these sites. He was not just a guide but a teacher helping us learn more about these impressive sites and the people of that time. We fit a lot into our day but I know the details he pointed out to us right under our feet we would have missed without him as our guide. He said to see all of Pompeii in detail would take full two days…I would 100% fly half way around the world to just spend three days in Naples to do the full two day tour of Pompeii with Lello. He is that good. He walked with an umbrella providing shade for us and I feel like at all times one of three of us had our mouths open wide with astonishment in what we were experiencing. Our driver Marco met us at the train station and kept our luggage in the vehicle through all the stops until our final destination on the Amalfi Coast.

The tour has been amazing! Never seen something as spectacular as Pompeii. We came with our 10 and 13 years old daughters and our guide Clelia made it amusing for all of us. Thanks to Clelia's explanations We have learned how Romans used to live and entertained themselves, seen first street food places, how water system worked even though the challenges due to volcanic rocks , houses of the gladiators and much more.

Amazing tour from Start to finish. We were picked up from our Villa in Castellabate at 8 am, the drivers were excellent, on time and extremely friendly and informative. We did two 2 hour tours, Pompeii and then Herculaneum. Lello was an excellent tour guide , an archaeologist who had previously worked in Herculaneum excavating and preserving the ruins. He had so much passion it was contagious, and he brought both sites to life. The transport was immaculate and air conditioned, which was such a relief as it was in the high 30's. And we were picked up at exactly the right time and taken back to our villa. I would highly recommend this tour company ! Thank you to Yuri and Lucia for making our day so special.

Marina our guide and Christian our driver were absolutely amazing, quite possibly the best tour guides we’ve ever come across! We went to Mount Vesuvius with Christian and met with Marina after to do a tour of Pompeii. Marina was 100% engaging and our young kids were totally tuned in. We would want to use her again. Christian was incredible, we had a nice debate/ discussion on where the best pizza in Naples was and we ended up at two locations for lunch.

We had an absolutely unique and enriching visit with our kind and friendly guide Lello. He was extremely knowledgeable, funny and the children where wrapped in his stories from beginning to end. We could of spent the week exploring Pompéi with this truly one of a kind archeologist and entertainer who spoke great French and English the entire duration of the tour. We had a once in a lifetime experience that I am sure we will remember as being the best of our trip to Italy. Lello is a passionate archaeologist. His presentation was lively, interactive, informative, and accessible for people with no prior knowledge. He covered the history of Pompeii and linked it to present day life. He kept all of us engaged the whole two hours and we highly recommend his tour. We would have missed so much of the wonder of Pompeii without him, including the Roman graffiti shown below!

Put simply, you must book Lello if touring Pompeii. From the moment we arrived, Lello was warm, inviting and funny. He had memorised all of our names and tailored the tour specifically to what we wanted to see the most. He engaged our two teenage daughters and they both keenly awaited his next point - no mean feat. His archeological experience was clearly evident and dramatically enriched the tour. We all came away with a dramatically different perspective of Pompeii and Pompeian life. Thank you sincerely Lello!

Stop Looking Now and book with this tour company. I did a lot of research to determine the best Pompeii tour for our family during our Spring Break trip. Lello was absolutely top notch! He is an archeologist and extremely knowledgeable. He made the entire tour so interesting and made you feel like you stepped back in time with his story telling. The amount of time we spent on this tour was perfect! All members of my family loved this tour and our guide.

Our tour was absolutely fantastic! Rosanna, our guide was amazing and took the time to get to know us and help us decide the content of the tour. With so much to see we wanted our boys, first time at Pompeii, to see as much as possible in the time allotted. Rosanna kept the tour personal, always interacting with us as if we were family or friends. My whole family had an amazing time and our visit to Pompeii was by far the best part of our vacation thanks to Rosanna. I cannot recommend this tour more highly. An absolutely amazing afternoon in one of the most stunning places in Italy.

Managed to source for Tours of Pompeii through Tripadvisor. Made contact with Louise and is glad that their correspondence are all prompt. On the day of our tour, Steven, our driver for the trip, came to our hotel to pick us up. Soon we were on our way to Pompeii! We were greeted by an extremely enthusiastic guide, Lello upon the opening of the car door! Lello is an archaeologist and is very knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii. He was very engaging making the whole tour lively and fun. He also let us experiment the effects of standing right at the amphitheater to test the impact of the voice projection. It was amazing! Lello, thank you so much for the wonderful tour at Pompeii. We agreed it was the most worthwhile and best experience out of our entire trip in Europe! We have used private tour guides all over the world and have almost always had great experiences. And based on that backgroud, I can say that Lello is at the absolute top of the list. HIs four hour tour went so fast I wish I had booked two of them. He brings ancient Pompei to life while also providing a fun and entertaining experience. His love of the place, his work and the other guide community made for a fantastic experience. I am sure all the guides here are great, but if you can get Lello, do so!

We toured Pompeii on 15 June with Lello and it was worth every dollar spent. From the moment he met us he was professional, courteous, KNOWLEDGEABLE and friendly. He took time to answer any questions and made sure you understood a topic before moving forward. His English was amazingly perfect. We are still astounded and humbled by the tour of Pompeii, he truly painted a picture of what life in 79AD was like in one of history's most advanced civilizations. Could not more highly recommend Lello.

Visiting Pompeii without a knowledgeable guide would be like having hot chips without salt - it just wouldn't satisfy. The site is so large that having someone like Lello & Co explain what you are seeing is a must. As an archeologist, our guide provided insights we would never had been able to have otherwise and his enthusiasm was infectious. Highly recommended!

We booked a 4-hour tour with Lello and Co and were not disappointed. Lello our guide was knowledgeable, informative and engaging. He challenged us on our knowledge of Greek and Roman culture as well what we knew of Pompei. We didn’t just see the ruins we understood what it was like to live in Pompei before the eruption and then the experience of the eruption. We also observed how archelogy had changed over the years and the loss of aspects of material on the site from the past. Lello was very personable, making the experience unique and relevant to both of us. We would strongly recommend Lello & Co for a Pompei personal tour. Philip & James 27 March 2025.

We had a wonderful tour with Loretta! She is a dynamic, informed, and truly talented guide. With her guidance, the city came alive for our group; and the tour was ultimately my kids' favorite thing we did in Italy. She was absolutely fantastic with my 11-year-old and 6-year-old children. Every aspect of booking this tour was easy. There was consistent, prompt email communication from Tours of Pompeii and always a fast response to questions. The price is so, so reasonable for such a great experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Tours of Pompeii, and especially Loretta, to anyone traveling to Italy.

We had a wonderful tour of Pompeii with this company. We were met promptly, as soon a we drove up,of by our guide and proceeded to see all the highlights of Pompeii that we could fit in to 2.5 hours. This was a good amount of time for our family of 6. Ida was our own private guide and she was outstanding!! I would highly recommend a tour with her as she was knowledgeable and engaging for all our kids ranging from 16 to young adults. I booked the private tour of Pompeii because it was my husband's #1 thing to do on our honeymoon. We had a tour with Lello himself and I cannot express how enjoyable the experience was. Both my husband and I say that it was the highlight of our trip! Lello was an archaeologist who has also been giving these tours for quite some time. It was clear that he was extremely passionate about sharing the history of this magical city with those who visit. We learned countless interesting facts that we were so excited to share with our loved ones when we returned. He was extremely charismatic with us, but his friendliness was also apparent with the other tour guides in Pompeii. You could tell that he was highly respected. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Lello. If given the opportunity to tour Pompeii again, we would not hesitate to book with him!

One of the best and most memorable tours we've done!! We did the half day tour and were greeted as soon as we left the train station at at Pompeii. Lello is really good at what he does, he was knowledgable and a lot of fun. If it wasn't for the tour I think we'd have wondered around aimlessly and missed a lot of interesting detail that was pointed out. There's plenty of other tour guides around Pompeii but I'd 100% recommend this tour! Also we went in April and the weather was perfect for it - not hot, slightly chilly but it made all the walking around so bearable. Wish I could go back and do the Herculaneum tour!

My friend and I had an excellent experience with this company! Loretta was our guide and was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. It was just the two of us with her so it felt much more personal than a big tour. Not only did she have oodles of facts and information to share about Pompeii, but she also had some "activities" like having us stand in the center of the amphitheater to see how well sound carried and reverberated to demonstrate how far ahead of their time the Romans were. I loved it and would recommend to anyone going to Pompeii.

Our tour of Pompeii was such a memorable experience, and Lello played a large part in making it so. He's so knowledgeable and entertaining and an amazing guide. We came away from the tour understanding the history of the region so much more that if we had just walked around by ourselves. We had a very memorable day in Pompeii thanks to our private tour with Lello. He was funny, engaging, and very knowledgeable as an archaeologist and someone who has spent many years at this site. Pompeii is a large and overwhelming site with very little signage, and Lello helped to direct us to the highlights of the ancient city, kept our kids (and us) engaged with interactive questions, organized our stops to be indoors during several rain showers, and generously extended our tour to provide even more in-depth information. As we moved around the city, he was like the Mayor of Pompeii, always greeting and being warmly acknowledged by everyone from fellow guides to archaeological staff to the site director. It was particularly exciting to hear him talk about the ongoing discoveries at Pompeii – including a discovery this fall of a wall inscription that rewrites the history and timing of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Thank you Lello and Tours of Pompeii for a great day at this fascinating ancient city!

My family and I had to book a last minute tour of Pompeii from the Naples train station. Veronica was very helpful and responsive in securing a private driver and a tour guide. Our expert guide was Antonio, who filled our visit with lots of facts, information, and added so much color and history to our visit. Marco, our driver, was also wonderful, since he helped us find an amazing pizza place after the tour, where my family had the real deal of Naples pizza....delicious. It was an incredible day and the highlight of our trip to Italy. I would give six stars if I could!

Our tour of Pompeii with Rossana was the highlight of our trip to Italy. She is a wealth of information and was enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge with us. Without her guidance, Pompeii would have been overwhelming and much less fulfilling. We wish that we could have stayed longer than our allotted time. I cannot recommend Tours of Pompeii enough! We had Alessandro as our guide and he was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! My husband and I did a private tour, just the two of us, and we learned so much more than we ever could have touring on our own or in a large group. Alessandro was smart, funny and it was obvious he enjoyed his job. He pointed out so many things we never would have noticed on our own. I found Tours of Pompeii on Yelp - I emailed them the night before the tour and had a response within minutes. The entire process was easy and effortless with great communication on their end. You won't be disappointed!!!
